Graecopithecus can be recognized by its developed but non-bridged supraorbital tori, tall and rhomboidal eye orbits, extremely thick molar enamel, and moderate facial prognathism (Cameron). According to Hartwig, “Graecopithecus is the most poorly known European hominoid. Some researchers consider Graecopithecus and Ouranopithecus to be the same species and a member of the genus Sivapithecus.”
